An example of a custom-built measurement platform for competition wheelchairs
A measurement platform for measuring the air resistance (drag) of competitive wheelchairs can built, complete with adjustable fixtures that can be tailored to the wheelchair's wheelbase and wheel size. Measurements can also be taken while a person is seated or while pedaling. In addition, motorized rollers to provide wheel rotation and resistance for wheels are available as needed. A dedicated PC software provides measurement data with configurable sampling rate, FFT analysis, and tools to easily extract average values from a given timeframe. -Wind Tunnel for Everyone-
